The GOLF study is a multicenter, prospective study with the goal to investigate golfers' return to the sport following hip, knee or shoulder arthroplasty. The prevalence of return to golf, by level of returning to golf will be assessed at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months postoperatively. Patients who are active golfers undergoing joint replacement will be identified from outpatient clinics and pre-assessment clinics and given information about the study at least two weeks prior to surgery. Participants in this study must have a desire to return to golf after surgery. Previous studies have only been able to report the return to golf after arthroplasty retrospectively; the prospective nature of this study will allow for a greater understanding of this process. The goal of this pilot randomized clinical trial is to look into the efficacy of concentrated bone marrow aspirate (cBMA) in improving post traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) symptoms in patients undergoing revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are whether clinical outcomes, such as pain, are improved in patients who get cBMA with surgery, if there is a change in circulating markers of inflammation and what part of the cellular and molecular composition of cBMA may explain its effects. The glenohumeral joint is the third most common large joint to be affected by OA. Conservative treatments include physical activity, corticosteroid injections, and medications. PRP is an emerging treatment that has shown efficacy in different musculoskeletal conditions. The use of PRP for glenohumeral OA has been described sparingly in the literature but has shown efficacy in a couple studies and case reports. However, all of the previous studies investigating PRP for glenohumeral OA have focused on low-dose PRP preparations (\~3X), and none have compared PRP treatment to saline treatment. This is a Pilot Study which is randomized, prospective, open label, dose escalation, non-controlled evaluating safety and feasibility of intra-articular Wharton's Jelly (WJ) allograft will be evaluated in patients suffering with knee osteoarthritis. Total knee replacement surgery is a conventional approach to alleviating the pain and lack of function resulting from arthritis of the knee. While conventional knee replacement surgery is highly successful, incidences of improperly installed replacement parts are not uncommon. To improve outcomes, robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery has recently become available, and has been shown to be extremely effective for partial knee replacement surgery. However, further research is needed to determine if this same technology can be equally effective for total knee replacement surgery. The present study will evaluate outcomes of robotic-assisted versus conventional total knee replacement surgery in patients between 40 and 85 years old with end stage arthritis of the knee. Other than surgical technique, patients will receive the same operative care and knee replacement implants. This study is being done to find out if metformin is effective at reducing pain by delaying the onset of post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. This research study will compare metformin to placebo. The placebo tablet looks exactly like metformin, but contains no metformin. Placebos are used in research studies to see if the results are due to the study drug or due to other reasons. Metformin is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat type II diabetes. Notably, it also has anti-inflammatory effects, suggesting it could benefit people who have an ACL injury and are undergoing ACL reconstruction. Read Less
